Local News

Good Afternoon,

I would like to inform you about the increase in vehicle related crime in the Tondu area. Unfortunately, there has been a rise in incidents involving vehicle theft and vehicles being broken into. I want to make sure everyone is aware and taking the necessary precautions to protect their property.

What you can do:

  • Lock your vehicles: Always double check that your vehicle is locked when leaving it unattended, even if it’s just for a short time.
  • Remove valuables: Never leave valuables in plain sights inside your vehicles, including bags, electronics and personal items.
  • Secure key fobs: Ensure your key fob is kept in a secure place and consider using an anti-signal block pouch to block the signal from car thieves.
  • Lighting and Security: Install motion sensor lights and security cameras at home.
  • Report suspicious activity: If you see anything unusual, please report it to the local authorities. The more eyes we have in the community, the better.
  • Please see the following link for further information - Crime prevention advice | South Wales Police

We are actively investigating these incidents and will continue to monitor the situation. Your support and vigilance are crucial in keeping our community safe.

If you have any concerns or notice any suspicious activity, please contact the police on 101 or report online at Report | South Wales Police. In an emergency, always call 999.

    Kind Regards,

    PCSO Thomas
