Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.
We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.
Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.
By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for drug offences following an investigation into drug supply in the Llanrumney area. During arrest, the man was found in possession of crack cocaine, heroin and cash. He has been charged with a total of 4 offences all relating to drug supply and remanded in custody until sentencing next month. Actioned 10 December 2025 |

Another successful partnership operation has taken place between neighbourhood teams and Cardiff councils off-road team. Operation Green Horizon aims to tackle the use of illegal bikes/scooters on green spaces and the highway around Cardiff. Actioned 10 December 2025 |

We have patrolled hotspots and conducted operations to target offenders. 18 off-road bikes (inc. e-scooters) have been seized and will join the queue to be crushed and destroyed, permanently removing them off the streets of Llanrumney. Actioned 01 September 2025 |
