Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.
We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.
Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.
By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.
Please note that to report a crime or incident to South Wales Police, you can visit Home | South Wales Police or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Local Priority Issues
We regularly speak to local residents to establish what issues they may be experiencing in their area. We set up to three local priorities for each policing area three times a year. These are based on local crime statistics, information from partner agencies and feedback from the community via our local priorities survey. The priorities for this area are currently:
ASB - Ffordd Cadfan flats
You said there is continuous anti-social behaviour taking place at the flats at Ffordd Cadfan. There is also a lot of drug dealing and taking, taking place at the flats.
We are regularly meeting with Welsh United Housing Association, with anti-social behaviour referrals and intel being submitted, and an increase in patrols taking place during the evenings.
ASB - 4G Pitch
You said youths are continuously breaking into the 4G pitch fence, by cutting holes in the fence to gain entry. Youths are also attending the woods, opposite Clos Y Eryr, Coity. Youths are lighting fires, smoking cannabis and leaving litter within the area.
We are submitting ASB referrals and conducting high visibility patrols in the area. There is an ASB camera which has now been placed over the 4G Pitch.
Drone activity - Parc Prison
You said there is an increase in drone activity going into Parc Prison.
We are going to conduct regular patrols of the prison grounds and surrounding area.
The word cloud below represents the issues that local residents have recently highlighted in the survey as priorities for their area (including some that say "I have no issues").
Word clouds are graphical representations of word frequency that give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently. The larger the word in the visual below the more common the word was in the survey.
Your feedback is important and the more we get, the better we can understand and deal with the issues raised. Please click on the button below to have your say on local issues. Please do share your feedback every few months so we can be sure we have your current views.
