Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.
We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.
Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.
By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.
Please note that to report a crime or incident to South Wales Police, you can visit Home | South Wales Police or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Local Priority Issues
We regularly speak to local residents to establish what issues they may be experiencing in their area. We set up to three local priorities for each policing area three times a year. These are based on local crime statistics, information from partner agencies and feedback from the community via our local priorities survey. The priorities for this area are currently:
You said off road bikes at Bwlch Mountain and Planka playing fields was an issue.
We are going to continue patrols, gathering intelligence and issues warnings or S59s / ASB referrals for the locations.
You said drug dealing was an issue.
We are going to continue gathering intelligence, conducting patrols and stop searches.
The word cloud below represents the issues that local residents have recently highlighted in the survey as priorities for their area (including some that say "I have no issues").
Word clouds are graphical representations of word frequency that give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently. The larger the word in the visual below the more common the word was in the survey.
Your feedback is important and the more we get, the better we can understand and deal with the issues raised. Please click on the button below to have your say on local issues. Please do share your feedback every few months so we can be sure we have your current views.
